Self-Defined Style:
Hefeweizen
Golden Spike Hefeweizen is a traditional, American Style, unfiltered wheat beer. It is named in honor of the historic completion, marked with a ceremonial "Golden Spike," of the first U.S. transcontinental railroad in 1869 at Promontory Point, Utah.
Appearance: Pours a robust, cloudy, golden-orange with a thick, yeasty head. Often served with a lemon wedge.
Nose: Waves of honey and citrus. Slightly malty.
Best With:
The refreshing citrus and spice character and delicate mouth feel of wheat beer makes it a great accompaniment to boiled veal weisswurst, lighter fish such as mahi-mahi, and salads made with citrus based dressing.
