Light American Wheat Ale or Lager with Yeast

A true Bavarian wheat yeast, sixty percent wheat malt, and German hops make Santa Fe Wheat Beer as true to the style as any American rendition can be. German Wheat Beer, with its hints of banana and clove, its delectable, spicy, hops, and its pale golden color, is becoming increasingly popular in America’s craft brewing world, and with good reason: wheat beers are both light enough to please light beer drinkers, and complex enough to please true micro-brew connoisseurs.

Whitsun is our Spring/Summer Seasonal, a wheat beer brewed with just the right amount of coriander, orange zest and Michigan honey. Wheat gives the beer a slightly viscous texture while offering pleasant bready flavors. Honey provides an earthy sweetness not often found in beers of this style. Coriander and a light hop addition add balance and never allow the sweetness to be cloying.

Three different world varieties of malted wheat lend to this American-style Wheat Ale its crisply tart and softly fruity character. The sweetly tart zestfulness in the mouth is underscored by a clean, almost minty hop bitterness.
